Overview

Dr. Pamela Baxter is a Professor in the School of Nursing. She is a member of the Gilbrea Centre for Studies in Aging at McMaster and an adjunct faculty member at Federation University, Australia. Her program of research focuses on health service delivery, health policy and healthcare leadership in long-term care and community settings. Her current funded studies related to aging seek to understand the experiences of informal/unpaid care partners and the gaps in health and social services provided to them as they cared for those living with dementia and other chronic illnesses during COVID-19. This program of research seeks to co-design interventions that promote post-pandemic recovery and preparedness for future health crises. Other research focuses on resident-to-resident aggression in long-term care and the role of healthcare leaders.
