Maura Marcucci
Overview
Maura Marcucci is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact (HEI), and Medicine, at McMaster University. She is an attending physician in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Division of Perioperative Care. She is a Scientist at the Population Health Research Institute (PHRI), working with the Anesthesiology, Perioperative Medicine, and Surgical Research Group. Since the beginning of her research career she has been involved in national and international collaborations on aging-related topics, including frailty. Her current research is on cardiovascular and functional outcomes of older patients undergoing noncardiac surgery, with a main focus on perioperative frailty and neurocognitive disorders.

- Starting from September 2023, she will transition to a McMaster Part-Time position and will start a new Full-Time appointment as Associate Professor at Humanitas University (Milan, Italy) as part of the new Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Research and continuing her research on perioperative geriatric medicine/aging.
