Overview

Dr. Imran Satia is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Respirology at McMaster University. His research involves a multi-disciplinary approach to investigate the effects of aging, risk factors, impact, and burden of disease at a population level with respiratory symptoms such as chronic cough. Imran’s main objectives are to understand the neuro-physiological and neuro-immune mechanisms of chronic cough and his long-term vision is to develop novel treatments for patients suffering with such respiratory symptoms to reduce the impact and burden of disease on patient lives. Imran is also a respiratory physician with expertise in the neurophysiology of airway nerves, clinical and experimental research and epidemiological observational cohort studies.
