Dr. Hao Yang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at McMaster University and an Associate Member of the McMaster Institute of Transportation and Logistics. With a multidisciplinary background in connected and automated vehicles (CAVs), new mobility services, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and advanced traffic management, Dr. Yang’s work addresses challenges like congestion, energy efficiency, and accessibility, with a focus on improving transportation for aging populations, his research explores how intelligent transportation systems can support the health and well-being of the elderly by enabling safer, more reliable, and personalized mobility services. These efforts contribute to creating inclusive, age-friendly transportation networks that promote social inclusion, independence, and an improved quality of life for aging population.
