Overview

Alexandra Papaioannou is a Professor in the Department of Medicine and the lead investigator for the Long-term Care Ontario Osteoporosis Strategy. Papaioannou is a leading researcher with expertise in clinical practices that involve osteoporosis and frailty in older adults, as well as long-term care and community dwellings. She is the Executive Director of the Geriatric Education and Research in Aging Sciences (GERAS) Centre and serves as the Co-Director of the Hamilton Canadian Multi-Centre Osteoporosis Study (CaMos) and the Fracture Think Osteoporosis project. Papaioannou has authored over 300 peer-reviewed articles. Her expertise is in clinical practices involving osteoporosis and frailty in older adults.
