Overview

Melissa Northwood is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing and early career researcher with the Aging, Community and Health Research Unit. The focus of her program of research is health- and social care integration for older adults with clinical complexity and their care partners. Current research projects include scalability assessments of community programs for the management of stroke and diabetes in older adults and evaluation of interprofessional models of primary care. Melissa is interested in collaborative research with older adults and health- and social care partners to improve the well-being of older adults, the culture of the practice environment, and the development of a learning health system.
