Overview
Kathryn Grandfield is an Associate Professor in the Department of Materials Science & Engineering and School of Biomedical Engineering at McMaster University. She is the Canada Research Chair in Microscopy of Biomaterials and Biointerfaces, a University Scholar, and recipient of the provincial Early Research Award (2018), and Petro-Canada Young Innovator Award (2017), among other accolades. Her age-related research focuses on improving bone implants, such as dental implants and hip replacements, in older adults with bone disease. She is also interested in advancing characterization methods for age-related bone diseases, including osteoporosis.
