Louise Lafortune
Overview
Louise Lafortune is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence and Impact at McMaster University. Her research focuses on developing and evaluating interventions designed to promote healthy aging, healthy brains and equity. Dr. Lafortune also leads the Aging Brain Strategic Initiative, which focuses on advancing research in cognitive health and aging. Her current work involves developing a new research portfolio on the aging brain, drawing on MIRA’s rich data platform and strategic priorities. She is also building on her long-standing research programme on age- and dementia-friendly communities to examine the social value of interventions and technologies that could enable people to remain active and engaged as they age.
