Overview

As the hallmark of aging, autophagy is a major protein turnover pathway by which cellular components are delivered into the lysosomes for degradation and recycling. My research interests focus upon the complex interplay between autophagy and the stimuli from the tissue microenvironment in the regulation of cell fate in the process of aging. The lab discoveries of my research group are driven by the application of biotechnology via genome editing CRISPR, pharmacological and genetic approaches, live cell imaging, fluorescence lifetime imaging and automated image analysis.
