Sandra L. Carroll

Health Sciences

Overview

Sandra Carroll’s research interests centre around patient decision-making processes in the context of arrhythmia care, patient-reported outcomes associated with cardiovascular diseases (psychosocial, disease-specific health-related quality of life), and patient engagement in research. Recent work has focused on device-specific quality of life in subcutaneous implantable defibrillators (ICD) and the implementation of ICD-specific patient decision aids for ICDs. Carroll is interested in patient decision-making through the ICD trajectory, including age and the influence of comorbidities on patient preferences.
