Overview
Luciana Macedo is a physical therapist and an associate professor in the School of Rehabilitation Science at McMaster University. Her research focuses on the assessment and management of musculoskeletal pain, particularly related to common spinal disorders. Her main interests are on the effectiveness of exercise therapists for back pain, how different treatment strategies work for different patient subgroups with back pain (including older adults), the underlying mechanisms of back pain and spinal disorders and the implementation of programs of care.
