From the Managing Director, Ine Wauben
McMaster Institute for Research on Aging

It is with mixed feelings that I am announcing Kara Aaserud’s departure as Communications Manager of the McMaster Institute for Research on Aging (MIRA) as she has accepted a new position of Manager, Strategic Communications with McMaster’s Advancement Communications effective July 26, 2021.

Kara has been a tremendous asset to MIRA since its inception in 2016. Through her exceptional communication efforts, Kara has played a key role in bolstering MIRA’s position within McMaster as well as its national reputation. She has helped to strengthen partnerships and collaborations between MIRA and a variety of stakeholders, including members of the private sector, health system, government and academic institutions. We sincerely thank her for her contributions and look forward to working with her in her new role moving forward.

At this time, we ask that you email any inquires you may have around communications and forward any relevant aging-related news to MIRAinfo@mcmaster.ca

I hope that you will join me in congratulating Kara and wishing her the best in her future endeavours.
