The McMaster Institute for Research on Aging, the Labarge Centre for Mobility in Aging and the Labarge Optimal Aging initiative will host the MIRA & Labarge Research Day on December 7, 2018. This annual event will showcase research in aging from across McMaster University and recognize the generous donations of Chancellor Suzanne Labarge.
McMaster researchers in aging are invited to submit a poster at the time of registration. To submit a poster, only the title and author list are required (an abstract is not required). McMaster trainees of all levels (undergraduate and graduate students and postdoctoral fellows) from all Faculties are encouraged to enter their poster in the trainee poster competition; a certificate and monetary award will be presented to the top poster in each trainee category. Poster criteria is as follows:
- Maximum size for posters is 48 x 48 inches;
- Poster set-up and breakfast begins at 9:30 a.m.; presenters are responsible for printing and transporting their posters to the Atrium at McMaster Innovation Park by 10:30 a.m. on December 7;
- The poster session and judging for the trainee poster competition begins at 10:30 a.m.;
- Trainee posters entered in the poster competition will be judged based on the following criteria:
- Design and clarity of the poster
- overall impression of the research project
- quality and design and research methods
- merit of analysis and research findings
- oral presentation quality and ability to answer questions
The MIRA & Labarge Research Day will be held at the McMaster Innovation Park. Registration is free and is now open.
