Dr. Sachi O’Hoski accepts position as Scientific Operations Manager for MIRA | Dixon Hall Centre

MIRA is pleased to announce Dr. Sachi O’Hoski as the new Scientific Operations Manager (SOM) at the MIRA | Dixon Hall Centre, continuing her distinguished career in rehabilitation science and research leadership.  

Dr. O’Hoski brings a multidisciplinary approach to to the MIRA | Dixon Hall Centre, having received a MSc in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto and PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences from McMaster University. For over a decade Dr. O’Hoski has excelled in clinical practice, research coordination, and teaching in her areas of expertise which include respiratory rehabilitation, mobility interventions for older adults and knowledge translation. In her previous role as the Translational Research and Evaluation Lead at the MIRA | Dixon Hall Centre, Dr. O’Hoski played a pivotal role in integrating evidence-based practices into community health programs. 

Dr. O’Hoski’s contributions to academia include numerous peer-reviewed publications and teaching roles at McMaster University, where she has co-coordinated courses on evidence-based practice and mentored emerging professionals in rehabilitation science. Recognized for her innovative research on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and aging populations, she has earned prestigious awards such as the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship. 

As the newly appointed Scientific Operations Manager, Dr. O’Hoski is dedicated to fostering collaborative research initiatives, enhancing operational efficiency, and advancing the Centre’s mission of improving quality of life for aging populations through cutting-edge research and community engagement.
