Imran Satia
Overview
Dr. Imran Satia is an Associate Professor and Canada Research Chair in Chronic Cough in the Department of Medicine, Division of Respirology at McMaster University. His research involves a multi-disciplinary approach to investigate the effects of aging, risk factors, impact, and burden of disease at a population level with respiratory symptoms such as chronic cough. Imran’s main objectives are to understand the neuro-physiological and neuro-immune mechanisms of chronic cough and his long-term vision is to develop novel treatments for patients suffering with such respiratory symptoms to reduce the impact and burden of disease on patient lives. Imran is also a respiratory physician with expertise in the neurophysiology of airway nerves, clinical and experimental research and epidemiological observational cohort studies.
