Biography

Bruce Milliken is a Professor in the Department of Psychology, Neuroscience & Behaviour at McMaster University. His research aims broadly at study of human cognition, with a specific focus on cognitive processes involved in attention, memory, and cognitive control. Current research projects center on recognition memory, implicit learning and the control of visual attention, and the role of deliberately generated visual imagery in guiding how humans search visual scenes. All of these research topics involve cognitive processes likely to differ between younger adults and healthy older adults. An ongoing aim is to pursue research that examines age differences in these cognitive domains. The ultimate goal of this research is to improve understanding of age differences in cognition that impact the day-to-day lives of healthy older adults.
