Curious about what Pitch Your Project is all about? Join us for a fun, beginner‑friendly workshop where you’ll learn how to talk about your research in a way that actually connects with people. Instead of focusing on methods and technical details, this workshop helps you uncover and communicate the why—why your work matters, who it impacts, and what difference it can make.
Pitch Your Project is a three‑minute‑thesis–style event that brings together students from across faculties to share their aging‑related research in a way that’s clear, engaging, and meaningful to a broad community audience. Using just one slide, presenters spotlight the why behind their work—why it matters, who it impacts, and how it connects to real experiences in aging—rather than focusing on technical methods or disciplinary jargon. This year there is no requirement to memorize your pitch, and you will have the option of using presenter notes or cue cards, for example.
This event is designed to support students in communicating their ideas in plain language, making their research accessible, relatable, and easy to follow for people from all backgrounds. Older adult community members will join as guests, offering students a unique opportunity to share their research with the very people it aims to benefit.
We’ll walk you through what to expect at the Pitch Your Project event, share easy presentation tips, and help you start shaping a pitch that feels confident, clear, and uniquely yours. Perfect for students with any level of experience!
