McMaster researcher, Dr. Alison Shea is investigating the association between menopause, hormone therapy use and the presence of depressive symptoms among older adult women. Using baseline data from the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA), Dr. Shea found that early menopause puts women at a significantly higher risk of depression.
