Matthew leads the Digital Music Lab, an interdisciplinary research project that promotes collaboration in the Hamilton City Ballet’s Dance for Parkinson’s Program to create technology-based dance systems for people with Parkinson’s Disease. Matthew’s research tells us that music and dance have been proven to show positive therapeutic effects for people with Parkinson’s. The use of music with a clear rhythm has been shown to improve gait and coordinated action.
