Each year the Gilbrea Centre hosts its Karl Kinanen Public Lecture featuring a prominent expert in the field of aging and gerontological research and seeks to foster knowledge exchange with the public, service providers and older people. The annual public lecture series is made possible due to the generous support of former McMaster faculty member Karl Kinanen (and his wife Beatrice Kemp), who retired in 1992. His work was instrumental to social gerontology at McMaster and in Canada, and marked the beginning of many continuing education events for the professional community.
We are excited to have Dr. Ellen Ryan, Professor Emeritus of McMaster University as our guest lecturer this year. She will be presenting “Finding a new voice: Writing through health adversity”. Details are as follows:
When: Wednesday April 18, 2018 – 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Where: Dundurn Castle Coach House - 610 York Blvd, Hamilton
To RSVP, contact firstname.lastname@example.org no later than April 1, 2018
The Gilbrea Centre is partnering with Hamilton Aging Together and the Department of Health, Aging, and Society for this event.
